Prevention Educator Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and present Prevention Programs to elementary, middle, and high school students on issues of sexual assault, dating and domestic violence.
  • Contact and inform schools, PSU, churches, and other community organizations about the availability of the CCWRC outreach programs
  • Work with the Outreach &Communications Team to train volunteers and interns to assist in the presentation of outreach programs
  • Work with the Outreach & Communications Team to evaluate/revise outreach programs
  • Attend and cover CCWRC information tables community events to provide information about the services of CCWRC

Outreach & Communications Team Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a monthly and annual calendar of outreach programs
  • Maintain a database of outreach programs
  • Coordinate and tabulate monthly CCWRC advocacy, education & training stats (AETs)
  • Manage, inventory, and track the Outreach & Communications Team materials
  • Attend weekly Outreach & Communications Team Meetings
  • Maintain current knowledge in the field
  • Participate in the provision of hotline services as needed
  • Attend bi-weekly CCWRC Staff Meetings
  • Work as a member of the Outreach & Communications Team
  • Is under the direction and supervision of the Director of the Outreach & Communications Team

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years experience in public speaking, community organizing and/or a degree in education, communication, or a related field
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of individuals, including children and teens
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must be highly organized
  • Must have the self-discipline to work both independently and in a team setting

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the CCWRC counselor/advocate training
  • Must receive Act 33 and 34 clearances
  • Must have reliable means of transportation
