Peaceful Hearts Foundation
At Peaceful Hearts Foundation, we believe every child and survivor of childhood sexual abuse should feel safe, supported, and empowered to thrive. By raising public awareness through media engagements, community events, informational campaigns, education programs, and legislative action, we seek the elimination of childhood sexual abuse from every community.

MaleSurvivor: malesurvivor.org
MaleSurvivor is committed to preventing, healing, and eliminating all forms of sexual victimization of boys and men through support, treatment, research, education, advocacy, and activism. MaleSurvivor sponsors Weekends of Recovery, an online chat room and bulletin boards, resources to find therapists and support groups, articles, bookstore, and a bi-annual conference for psychotherapists, allies in healing, survivors and their partners.

1in6: www.1in6.org
1in6 offers a wealth of information and resources on its website, including an online helpline and a lending library, for men who have experienced unwanted or abusive childhood sexual experiences and those who care about them. Their site is for men at various stages of seeking information and help, including those who don’t see themselves as “survivors” or their experiences as “abuse.” 1in6 also provides trainings for therapists and other professionals.

RAINN: www.rainn.org
RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) is the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization. RAINN created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline (800.656.HOPE, online.rainn.org y rainn.org/es) in partnership with more than 1,000 local sexual assault service providers across the country and operates the DoD Safe Helpline for the Department of Defense. RAINN also carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help victims, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

The Bristlecone Project
“Bristlecone Project: Portraits of Male Survivors,” was developed by 1in6 founding Board member Dr. David Lisak and is now a collaborative awareness initiative of 1in6.

The Vision: A mosaic of photographs and words that portray the reality and hope of men who were sexually abused or assaulted.

The Focus: The present, not the past. Who each man is. What defines him. What is the focus of his life. Each man is portrayed through a series of photographs, a brief written narrative, and a video (coming soon).

The Purpose: To portray this reality — who we are now, living meaningful and dignified lives — to the many men who may feel isolated and stigmatized by what happened to them. And to portray this reality to whole communities through the Bristlecone Project website and public exhibitions, providing positive, hopeful role models of men who have faced their unwanted sexual experiences and who learned to live healthier, happier lives.

Project Unbreakable
Project Unbreakable is a photography project aiming to give a voice to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse.
